Charlie Straight - Indie–pop band

Charlie Straight are an indie-pop band formed in 2006 in the Czech Republic. The four-piece band collected three Czech Grammies for their debut album and won the MTV European Music Award for Best Czech/Slovak Act in 2010 and 2011 respectively. They recorded the new album called Someone With a Slow Heartbeat (2012) with the London-based producer Guy Fixsen. KK Promotions represents Charlie Straight mainly in Austria, but also in the UK and Germany. To help raise the profile of the band outside of the Czech Republic, KK Promotions organised the first Charlie Straight gig in Austria at the showcase festival Waves Vienna 2012. The agency currently uses its international network of contacts to establish collaborations in the UK with various media and music PR agencies.

Samuel Pauco - Contemporary artist, painter

KK Promotions promotes young and established artists. One of them is Samuel Pauco, born 1986 in Slovakia, who works and lives in the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brno, Prof. Martin Mainer. His paintings alternate between abstraction and representation. He had his solo exhibitions at the Chemistry Gallery in Prague, Wannieck gallery in Brno or WalkThruGallery in Hradec Kralove and many others.

nebenzimmer sessions - Live improvised Beats between Jazz, Hip Hop and Electronic-Funk

KK Promotions works together with the Austrian producer and guitarist Darius Edlinger, who hosts the nebenzimmer sessions at Cafe Leopold in Vienna. The three musicians Darius Edlinger (guitar), Philipp Eder (keys/synths) and Michael Prowaznik (drums) all studied at renowned music institutions (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Conservatory of Music Vienna, Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, Berklee College of Music) and have put all their musical experience and passion into the "nebenzimmer sessions"-project, which has its fixed place in the program of the Cafe Leopold Vienna every third Thursday of the month.

Elena Steiner - Contemporary artist

KK Promotions works together with Elena Steiner, who lives and works in Vienna. Born in 1975 in the Czech Republic, Elena studied painting at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Her works intentionally disrupt people’s ingrained habits of perception, since they are no longer used to perceive pictures of persons with imperfections. The almost photorealistic, mostly large- format acrylic paintings provide the spectator with a deeper meaning resulting from the tension of the relationship between illusion and reality: a faked (painted) plasticity transforms into a real plasticity, which is created through the attachment of diverse material to the canvas, resulting in 3D paintings. In her series of work Elena Steiner examines different types of people, creating situations, in which the spectator is confronted with the uncompromised unmasking of his/her own illusionary world, questioning the flawless beauty models. KK Promotions works with the award-winning advertising agency Ogilvy UK, supporting the Broadcast and Digital team. As Media Relations Experts we are responsible for media outreach, media research, defining media targets, editing and distributing of press releases and video feeds, media liaison, media monitoring and analysis. We help to generate broadcast and online coverage in Germany’s most influential media for various consumer products. Recent campaigns included Habanos Cigars, Volvo and Panda, for which KK Promotions successfully generated media coverage on TV channels such as RTL, Sat 1, ProSieben, Vox, N-tv, N24, Deutsche Welle, to name just a few.

Full Moon Magazine

KK is the regular contributor for the Czech music magazine Full Moon, based in Prague, covering mostly – though not exclusively – experimental independent music scenes and artists to push the boundaries of music, one way or another. Launched in 2010 with a circulation of 5000 copies, the magazine cooperates with important festivals in Europe and promotes interesting music from all over the world. Full Moon uses dynamic social networks and holds its own radio session on Street Culture digital radio station. Full Moon is the only non-mainstream Czech music magazine. It was nominated for the Czech Grand Design 2011 prize, the annual designer award.

Waves Vienna Festival

KK Promotions promotes musicians in collaboration with the Waves Vienna Festival, the city’s first club- and showcase festival. Every autumn Vienna’s most significant clubs such as Flex, Badeshiff, Fluc or Pratersauna, unique off-locations, and the public space merges into the site of the Waves Vienna Festival.
